Please Be vigilant of Many Scams circulating & targeting Australians.

Their intentions are to scar you into acting immediately and provide personal information directly, passwords, click on a malware links that gather personal information and in many cases they will ask for money in the form of Pay Id, direct deposit to unfamiliar accounts or even Australia post bank transfers using cash or Google/apple cards.

The most common forms of contact from a scammer are via sms, phone calls, emails and social media pretending to be The ATO, MYGOV, Centrelink, Medicare, ASIC and sometimes your phone/internet &/or your utilities providers.

Your Government Agencies will not contact you via sms/email/social media asking for personal information or immediate payment, they will not contact you via sms/email/social media asking you to follow a link, nor contact you threatening police action or incarceration.

If you receive a suspected scam sms, phone call, email, social media messages-

NEVER-

Never give any personal information, Never click on a link they provide, never call the numbers back, Never engage with the sender on social media, Never make any payments.

DO-

Do take a screen shot of the information, Do block the number/account, Do delete the emails, mark a spam, Do block sender, Do report the number/email, sms & Contact names to the ATO.
